Model overview

SIMPLE simulates crop growth at a daily timestep using thermal time, intercepted radiation, temperature response, heat stress, CO2 effect, water stress, biomass growth, and final yield.

This dashboard uses the SIMPLE model. Reference paper: Zhao et al. (2019), A SIMPLE Crop Model (PDF)

Limitations: nutrient dynamics, vernalization, photoperiod, pests, disease, frost, and excess moisture are not implemented in the current engine.
